Two new imaging-related PhotoDoc videos released

May 25, 2017 – Training videos titled “Fixing Rotated Photos” and “Using Dump Folders” were posted today to the Photodocumentor website. Both videos can be found in the “Training – Imaging” section of the PhotoDoc website.

The first video, “Fixing Rotated Photos,” is useful when the user has several photos that are incorrectly rotated upon being added into PhotoDoc. The ability to set rotation rules for photos is explained.

The second video, “Using Dump Folders,” shows how to add an automatically monitored folder to a Photodoc file that will import any photos dropped into it.

PhotoDoc Version 4.1.1 is released

May 3, 2017 – Business Casual Technologies LLC announced today the release of Photodocumentor Version 4.1.1. This update should be installed by all users.

This version should be installed automatically for all users of Version 4.0.0 or greater, or it can be downloaded for manual installation here.

This release corrects an installer bug in Version 4.1.0 that prevented PhotoDoc from running until a workaround was applied.

Version 4.1.0 installation bug workaround

There’s a bug in PhotoDoc version 4.1.0’s installer. This is NOT a problem with the PhotoDoc software itself – just an installation problem when installing it over an existing older version. We regret this error. However, version 4.1.0 contains some important bug fixes itself and we strongly recommend it for all users.

Today we published a video showing how to quickly and easily work around the installation bug. Here’s the even-shorter version of what to do:

  1. Allow PhotoDoc to automatically update from version 4.0.0 to 4.1.0.
  2. Go to the Download PhotoDoc page and manually download the appropriate (32-bit or 64-bit) version 4.1.0 build.
  3. Double-click on this file and choose Uninstall.
  4. Double-click on this file again and choose Install.
  5. PhotoDoc version 4.1.0 should be working!

For a video walkthrough of this procedure, please see the video on the Training – Workarounds page.

PhotoDoc Version 4.1.0 is released

Apr 30, 2017

PhotoDocumentor version 4.1.0 was released today. Updates include:

New features:

  • Enter advances to the next tooth in the traumagram.
  • Plug-in architecture allows us to deploy different code to different customers.
  • Print to sidebar allows documents to be printed and stored in the sidebar, where they can be viewed or printed.
  • A MUSC only plugin sends files from the sidebar to MUSC partner sites via BOX.

Bug Fixes:

  • Crash when using multiple filters.
  • Crash upon opening a second document.
  • Changed color for silver fillings from silver to dark purple.
  • Local server does not crash when it lacks privileges to serve files.
  • Installer properly sets firewall and HTTP listener permissions so the local server works. (I swear I did this before, but I can’t find it if I did.)
  • Incident captains can upload from WInID 3, not just administrators.

Version 4.1.0 can be downloaded here.
